We now have to compost but we had no kitchen compost bucket. Started to use just a small trash can but the flies & gnats got too much plus it began to reek within 2 days of putting stuff in it (stuff began to rot). This one works to minimize the smell although in summer we’ll probably have to do daily dumps to the bigger outside compost bin. Some little part on the handle hinge fell off during our first dump but it doesn’t seem to be a needed part, handle still works just fine. It would be nice if the thing was just a little more sturdy (mom is going through these things like water). And I’d like one even bigger since the “Large” size doesn’t hold enough–when we clean out the frig on Tues, we always end up having to dump and refill, dump and refill. I like that this bucket can be carried out to the large bin and then washed with the garden hose. Have to spray bleach on the inside every week just to prevent the fly/gnat eggs from hatching. All would be ok but I need a bigger one. I’m going to buy a second one so when one gets filled, we still have an additional one to use.

1 Star Flimsy and small
This compost carrier is very flimsy and small - I can’t believe I paid $25 for this cheap piece of plastic.
